Help dating a Kirpan sword

I can't find any references to Malwa Kirpan Factory in Amritsar and assuming it no longer exists. I'm guessing this sword is late 19th C or early 20th C... thoughts?

I believe it's late 20thc. Tourist work.

This looks like the 'collector' swords sold in magazines in the 60s, for about 19 bucks.

the pommel end of the guard should be bent back to shape & inserted in the lions mouth rather than under the pommel nut. not that it would improve the value by much. these are poorly made toys for the uneducated & not really worth displaying. a hair better than the ones with big 'INDIA' etching on one side and 'REAL STEEL' on the other. i would suspect the 'tang' is a threaded rod tack welded to the blade so do not under any circumstance actually swing it around and especially do not hit anything with it, when it breaks (and not if) that point can do some damage. any sword like object with an exposed threaded nut on the pommel holding it together is suspect.

i think i bought one much like it when i was a teenager in the late 60's i left it behind when i moved. most of us maintain an OOPS corner way back in a dark closet for stacking our mistakes.
