Default Mandau tribal origin based on carved motifs

Is it possible to judge the tribal origin of a mandau based on carved motifs on it's handle and sheath?

I hereby enclose some pictures of handles for comments.

Hello Alexis,

With old, traditional pieces this is usually possible.

Your examples appear to be rather recent and I'm not sure our Borneo specialists will be able to comment on their origin.

That is, except for the attached hilt which is of distinctly better quality and seems to have decent age; it's a more unusual style though and I'm not prepared to venture a guess...

Regards,
Kai
