Nice snag. Showed the picture in your post to Anne and she said, "Turkish?"

Ya thief!

Oh, maybe I shouldn't be casting stones.

Congrats on a great catch!

Hi Lew,
Well caught, if it gets lonely I have a big brother looking for lost sibling.
My Regards,

The dagger arrived yesterday and it was cleaned up nicely but too much was done. The blade is super clean and razor sharp the horn has some minor bug damage so the last person who had it decided to coat the hilt in super glue and buffed it out to high gloss shine. No pics yet my son borrowed my only good camera and won't be back til Thursday.

OMG, I've come across that before! Superglue or some cyanoacrylate (sp?) derivative coating! It's like a 21st century idiots instant french polish.

Always liked them, especially their intricate fullers.
Rivkin once mentioned the similarity between them and so-called "Iranian Qaddaras". Both likely hail from Southern Caucasus: Trabzonian from Georgia, Qaddaras from Azerbaijan.
