An interesting Bugis keris from Celebes up for sale
An interesting Bugis keris from Celebes / Sulwasi, Indonesia. The scabbard shows typical Kemuning woodgrain (flashy and well patinated). The ukiran of the same (striped) wood. Completed with a silver selut / pendokok. The somewhat curved Sepokal blade has a fine layered pamor and fits fine into the slot opening. The sheath is from angsana wood and buntut is present (usually they are absent). Age: 19th century, the blade is much older. Overal size: 41 cm.
Fair price: 150 euro. |
