A very nice one. The fittings seems to be from silver?

That is a VERY nice gunong. The fittings do indeed look silver. Congrats!

I've been told that the straighter handle usually means an older one.

Thanks for the comments. Glad to hear. I must say that I'm impressed with workmanship.
I think the blade is laminated as well. Hard to photograph though.

Yup, definitely laminated. This blade could use a mild etch...
