Default Congo wooden knife ?

Hi

I acquired this unusual piece recently - there is one similar in the "African Weapons" book, described as a Kuba wooden throwing knife. Are there any Congo experts in the forum who can tell me more about these objects and their use ?

What was the significance of the carved design and white pigment (kaolin) for example ?

Any comments/information would be welcome.

Regards.

This is a Ndengese knife, not a throwing knife.A ritual object.
Called ntotchi.
