2 Keris with some Similarities
Hello,
Attached is my latest keris. Height 35 cm and the tangguh probably Ngento2. When I was offered this keris (the condotion was still dirty), I think that this keris has some similarities with my other keris (29cm). I will attach the other keris's picture in comment. In my opinion, the material for the blade and pamor is quite the same. Also, the technique to process the pamor's texture is similar. But, when the 35 cm keris arrived, I got a little bit confused. Because the keris feels different with the 29 cm keris. The 35 cm keris has thicker and heavier wilah, feels like I was holding a Tuban mataram keris. The 29 cm keris, although it has been re sharpened, the blade is thin and light, feels like a pajajaran keris. My questions is do you think both of the keris is from the same tangguh? Different question, is it possible for an Empu in ancient time to make a keris different from it's style? (For an example: from thin blade to a thicker blade) Thank you for your help and appreciation, Best regards, Joe |
