The length is cca 45 cms. Handle covered by thick brass. It think interesting piece, maybe comming from Ethiopian Somalia, or influenced at least.

Very nice piece, looks much older than most daggers I've seen with that style of hilt. The blade shape seems unusual as well?

It could be really old - maybe end of 19th/beginning of 20 th century. The curvature of th blade is interesting (but it is not bent to the sides)

Agreed ...This is old. I place http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showthread.php?t=22508 as the basic style; Billao. The hilt is extraordinary being hexagonal or near that...
