I am planning a non-weapon project and could use some help. I was hoping someone here had some information on African leather tanning processes. I have search the web but can't find anything. I even joined a leather working forum with no luck. I figured with all the experience with sheaths and such you folks might be in the know.

So-called Moroccan leather, produced in Hausa areas used a sumac tanning process. In other areas of the sahel acacia albida pods or the timeknit plant could be used. | |
