Gifts from Mali

A close friend of the family brought these back from Mali for me. The crude grinder marks scream tourist piece, but I love them. I tested out the blades and they proved to be good, strong, cutting tools. The metal trappings could have been put together a little better. I suspect these strips are cut from coffee cans. But that is what I love about African ingenuity. They can take bits of this and that and make working tools.
