Hi Forum.
Can anyone help ID this Knife? It has a 36cm Blade and is stamped with the Owners name and a Regiment? Any help gratefully recieved |

The blade is from Java, typical from Tijeroeh

Very nice example. Mas Kartadimadja is probably the maker and it is as Carlos mentioned made in Tjikeroeh, Java.
See the item as a bring back souvenir for the Dutch soldiers. Maybe a utility knife for Dutch civilians working and living in Indonesia. Certainly not a militairy weapon. |

First let me state what a wonderful piece you have!
I had just come back from a show late last night, so to relax, I went to the forum to see what had been newly posted, which is my customary habit;when I saw your piece and the postings of the other forum members, I almost fell out of my chair ! I had picked up a sword from the show,which I wasn't sure what it was and "lo and behold," an instant answer.Any chance you guys could give up 6 winning lottery numbers? |
