Definitely a Keris Sundang.
I'm not as familiar with them as I am with Moro kris (which admittedly I'm still not very knowledgable in compared to most here). Interesting that this is an almost Javanese Keris-like pamor blade instead of a more mildly etched steel moro-style kris blade. I find that there's a lot of both in the Keris Sundang Melayu. |

Hoi Hans,
The Scabbard and hilt looks indeed as a Sundang Malayu . But the pamor and the marangi looks a little javanese... gr, danny |

Hullo everybody!
![]() Reminds me of Sundangs made by a friend of mine in Kelantan. (Apparently his peers believe he is quite good as a panday, as he has received 'recognition'/'acknowledgement' from them). He sometimes chooses the wood for scabbard cross-pieces or toes which, without closer examination, makes them look like aged ivory. Very nice! Best, |
