Bill, I don't know how low is the very low price but that's a darn good sword and I'd love to have one as such. Congrats man. Thought you're already adept at cleaning.

Ya know Bill , I think I'm going to start calling you 'Hoover' 'cause you really are vacuuming up a lot of stuff my friend .

That is a fascinating wood that the scabbard is made from; the grain reminds me of a Briar pipe ; scabbard by Kaywoodie !?

Seriously though; does anyone have an idea as to what kind of timber this might be; it is quite stunning .

Thats lovely Bill, you do find them...

Rick, several burrs can have that figure & colour, but it most looks like Amboyna to me. { one of the pterocarpis family}

Thanks for all the comments!

Can anyone tell me what I have here? I have less knowledge than you might think about Moro kris.

I use two White Lightning studio 800 watt strobe lights with 42" softboxes. The camea is a Panasonic DMX FZ10. I photograph at 2304x1728 (4 megapixels) and reduce to 800x600 to post here.

Works for me. Thank you for the compliments.
