Looks like a 18thC and looks like it does have a baca-baca. Interesting that it has a ferrule. Interesting that if it has non-traditional Moro hilt, some assume it is "adapted". Maybe the new owner will provide us with some pics?

Bill, you might be right, there could be a baca-baca there. Frankly, i'm not "assuming" anything about this kris based upon this photo. I certainly wouldn't assume that there is a ferrule. It could just as easily be a selut on the hilt. Without better pictures i would jump to ANY conclusions on this one, least of all that it is a Bugis missing link.
