This is not unlike the officer's katana my dad had returned with from the Pacific after WWII that my mom made him get rid of when we kids were born. Not so much my dad's regret as my own.

It is such a lovely keris that I would love to have it if you ever get bored of it!
Nice warangan job too. Realgar seems to give a subtler stain it seems but even more alluring to my eyes. |

Hi
You stained it yourself using warangan? Orelse what did you use for staining if warangan is not available. I got similar blade which I want to try staining it with home vinegar. I have no access to warangan. |

No, it was stained by a man in the Netherlands with realgar warangan. My own attempt to etch with realgar was nor really successful. Regards, Detlef |
