AnXI LC 1816, rack numbers

Hello,

Have this piece which I really like, starting to give it a gentle clean.

Are rack numbers like this usual on this model?

Only for an opinion maybe totally wrong, but I need the opinion of those who know more

It seems to me that the numeration was added long after 1816. The same as the scabbard, which at that time was leather with bronze fittings.

This is a French cavalry sabre M an XI and this type of sabre had an iron scabbard. The one shown is absolutely original as well as the numbers on it. It was made in the Klingenthal factury in Decembre 1816

Many thanks for your comments Gentlemen. I was wondering if the application of numbers/ stars are common on this model? I assume they are rack numbers to help with recording inventory at the armoury..
