Hi
I just sent images of the attached item, I have not got it in hand but was sent some images by the seller It looks like a pike like item with British markings Seller is not sure what the stamping says I read a crown over GR AND 1939 Might this be a boarding pike or some home guard item but these are just guesses Any ideas? Cheers Ken |

I also pondered on that possibility, but then, it would be a rather atypical one. The point should not be so sharp and the side hook should be curved, not of such a rectangular plate shape.
The date is also worthy of note; GR under a crown doesn't match with either British King Georges... unless the date is not 1939 as thought. Otherwise this is a rather 'modern' implement. Maybe when Ken has it in his hand he is able figure out the real date and the inscription wording ... a mark ? |
