To my eyes, the scabbard appears more recent. The blade looks fine as well as the pommel.
I wonder if the wrap was either done later to replace damage, or if it was modified by Dayaks in Borneo (after trading the piece). The scabbard is not a traditional Borneo barong scabbard. |
