Wow Ian, that does seem a bit much. I literally have this kris' identical twin ( my blade is only 21 1/2"). I paid $235 for it just 6 months ago and my sheath is both intact and original to the blade. BTW, mine was not an ebay auction.

Rick: I don't see anything special about this one -- somewhat unusual hilt maybe, but otherwise not very old and not very interesting.
