According to the book "African Weapons" by Fischer & Zirngible, this type of knife is from the Tetela and Mbole peoples. Looks like the iron pommel is missing on this example. I'm not sure how definite these Congo tribal attributions are, perhaps just an area of origin would be better ??
I'm sure one of the Congo experts on the forum can be more specific. |
