Yes they look similar, especially with the flowers in relief attached to the handle and scabbard. But I found on Internet a dagger who looks very similar to mine in the decoration. In the description they say Ottoman Jambiya 19th c... Would you consider that it could be an Ottoman prototype? There is still a small mystery to solve... K. |

The two daggers you show are IMHO Kurdish.

Hello,
Kurdish in shape, but not really in style. For me both daggers are Ottoman, probably produced for local market, Kurdish and Arabian. I don't think the dagger is from the 20th, i think 19th. I would like to have more comments about this. I attach a picture of David Robert with a guy wearing a dharia. Best wishes K. |
