It was rather a distinctive piece at the time due to the bifurcated tip. Main reason it popped into mind.

The price indicates at least to me that most people saw it for what it was. I seem to recall another going for much higher a year or so ago.

Makes you wonder what will happen in a few decades when some of the very good Medieval replicas available today start turning up on eBay with a bit more age and patina to them...
