Thanks Lofty .
No way this sword is from 1606 (didIgetthatright?)

The current custodian of this sword is a charter boat captain from my town .
Just trying to fill in some blank spaces for him .
The handle is horn, the blade seems to be fairly springy, but kids at play can damage about anything .

I think cleaning it would likely remove the decoration; it is quite rusty .
