On the second item, A 479, a fine Landsknecht broadsword, the blade probably Italian, ca. 1500, the hilt South German, ca. 1525, please note the zoomorphic stylized animal's head of magic apotropaic function, punched and chiseled on the quillons (bottom image)! m Last edited by Matchlock; 27th June 2012 at 09:06 PM. |
