Yes, that is quite possible.
Often you find a bit odd weapons, and unusual variations that resemble swords from Aceh, coming from Jambi.

I found this in the Collection RMV Leiden described as Jambi :

inventarisnummer:3600-1094
titel: sabel
materiaal/techniek: ijzer ; hout
ander inventarisnummer: Spat 4813 (Oudnr Breda) ; HCK 8/7 (Oudnr Breda HCK)

Willem, yours (from Leiden) seems to be a Jambi variation of the Aceh peudeung, but with another hilt.
