As far as I can tell there is enough patina on the wood and the silver work does exhibit a higher quality workmanship. Compared to some of the other examples the seller has had up for auction. This piece could be WW2 vintage . Plus with the asking prices of gunongs of late I actually made him an offer for $35 less than his asking price. So if it turns out to be more recent than it will be a lesson learned but at least it won't be too hard to swallow
