This is something else that I've been meaning to ask about.

Length = 11 1/2 inches Width at widest point = 13/16 inch Is this a spear tip or something else entirely? If it is a spear tip how would it have been removed? Would it have to be cut out, ripped out, or pushed all the way through and pull it out the other side? None of which I might add could possibly be very pleasent for whatever or whoever was on the receiving end. Last question, is this a real piece or just tourist junk? Even at almost 1 foot long Im inclined to think that its probably an arrow head, and Im guessing Africa as far as origin.

The first pic is spear tips used for fishing in the Philippines. I believe they are most likely from Luzon. The second pic is arrow heads also from the PI; I believe that at least some of them are used for fishing also.

Thanks for the pictures and information. I would say that the top item in the first picture is almost the same as mine. Do you have any idea as to the age? Could you please post a picture of the entire tip including the wooden part on the end? Thanks again. Robert |

My guess on age is between 1950-70, give or take. Try & post some more pics in a day or so.
