Whilst researching another piece I have found a very similar example, although the blade is broader, on page 212 of 'The Arts of the Muslim Knight'. In support of What Jens has noted, the passage also notes this a Deccan and most likely booty taken in 1689 when the fortress of Adoni fell to the Mughal general Rustam Khan. Gav |
