Default Old fighting barung -- pre-1900

This old warrior has a nice laminated blade with several edge knicks from serious use. Etching reveals a hardened inserted edge in the cutting zone. Blade is shorter than many 20th C. examples and remains very sharp. Hilt comprises a simple silver punto and an old dark banati wood cap carved as a "minimal" kakatua. No chips to the kakatua, which is a very nice piece of striped banati. This particular form of kakatua is somewhat uncommon. Hilt has some fine age cracks, but is firm. No scabbard.

OAL: 20 1/8 inches
Blade: 13 3/8 inches
Hilt: 6 3/4 inches

Asking $245 plus SHI.

Ian.
