It's a suede cover for the more traditional original wood core & black leather covered scabbard, minus the frog & tool pouches. I had it made so I could attach a baldric as it's a bit too heavy for a belt carry. The stag grip is aligned perfectly as is the fit to my hand so the edge indexes correctly even if I am not looking at it.
