If anything I'd say this is a case of the Tuareg picking up influence from another region.

These don't correspond to classic Tuareg work (telek etc.).

But given the large numbers of differing Tuareg clans and the range they inhabit, it could simply be regional differences.

Still, I think these represent a specific Berber sub type for the region with Arab influences like the Bani Hassan.
