Default Punjab? Tulwar

Just received a Tulwar today, I suppose this means I have moved up from knives? Unlike Great Uncle's Civil War saber, this sword is Scary Sharp. It is said to be from the Punjab. The mostly floral gold decoration on the hilt includes some manner of domed building. Just carrying it around the house I appreciate the couple inches of unsharpened blade fore of the guard, where one's forefinger naturally rests.
I welcome anyone's opinions on age or source of this item. Would that building be someone's temple? I suppose it's now time to rest a bit & figure out where to hang some of my new acquisitions 'midst the muskets.
