German Wootz???

Hello All,
I do not know much about the swords of that location or time period, but the steel is more like that resulting from alloy banding than anything else.
The wave appears to come from the forging process (small radius fullers to draw out the steel).
I do not believe this to be wootz or pattern-welding.

This is a subject much debated in modern bladesmithing circles.
