Some more pics after cleaning. The handle was black from rust...a bit of sanding revealed red rust underneath, which I cleaned off. Under the flash of the camera I see some rust left. The blade cleaned up nicely also, and the apparently blunt edge took a bite out of me.
Next step is making a scabbard, and my first question is how I may go about curving the wood plates. |
