With my piece do you think it would have had a coin on the butt end (I have another which does and it looks like the same size hole to take a little nail in the centre of a coin)? Also is it likely to have had a spacer or metal collar near the hilt as the tang does not quite fit all the way into the hilt (I am pretty sure it is not just a blocked hole). Thanks again.
