That seems to be a hard nut to crack. Let me write down my thoughts after browsing on- and offline resources:
Those gilded copper/brass alloy or bronze guards and pommels seems to be famous on 15th/16th century swords. E.g.: https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/35716 The deocaritve pattern reminds me on some late 16th century sowrd decoration Iīve seen in a book. But I couldnt find any similar example anywhere. I would guess it is a pommel of a noble sword from the early 16th century... But widely without any hard facts. Kind regards Andreas |
