Nice piece Spunjer, and great description....maybe you should announce for a modeling runway!

Interesting piece. What period would you date it to?? The blade seems like an older style. Do you think the silver work is original and born with the hilt, or a later addition??

I wouldn't worry about the hair(like I don't )...I have seen several period photos...on here, in fact...of Moros with kampillans with empty holes for a plume. That seems to suggest that even though a kampillan may have been made "plume ready", they were not always used, though this one seems to have remnants of it.
