English Take-down Fusils

Hello All,
I was wondering if anyone has information in regards to English fusil muskets of the French & Indian War and Revolutionary War periods, and in particular carbine & musket caliber take-down muskets. Through my research of English Fusils of the Revolutionary War era I have noticed the difficulty in characterizing Fusils as probable officers' military arms, as opposed to civilian weapons. Would a carbine (.65) or musket bore fusil of the take-down variety more likely be an officer's gun with the take-down nature of the fusil making it more easily stored and transported while on campaign? Were there civilian take-down Fusils as well? Regardless of the take-down feature does the furniture on these Fusils better determine the military nature of the piece(swing swivels, bayonet lug, military motifs)?
I would appreciate any enlightenment on the subject and/or recommended sources!
