It is always a good idea to photograph an item before cleaning as there may be clues to its age etc.. By tissue do you mean cloth? Was it glued in or sewn to the metal. Unfortunately there is not a data base of images to draw from and I am not exactly sure how linings on a char aina were attached, I know some seem to be sewn in place through small holes around the edges and possibly glued down also but other char aina do not have these holes and the cloth lining may have been only glued in place. I do have a lot of images saved on my computer. I think you have to look at your armor items as individual items that may have been put together as there is not a decorative element in common as you would expect from a matching set.

I did find a char aina that looks a lot like yours, it is hinged and edged like yours and has no decoration, and I found one more that was hinged like yours but has scalloped edges and holes for sewing a lining in place.

Can you take better photos of the dastana, are there any small holes around the edges?

On the top of your helmet, how is the piece on the top attached, is it riveted, I can not tell from the images, is the bowl all one piece?

More detained images of the hinges and buckles would be helpful as well.
