i have two of these swords, exact same, thought maybe a templar sword but not having any crescant moons or stars present. handles are brass, and blade is curved, with a length of 32" and quite heavy. some friends have said english, others have said cheap tourist pieces.

any one have any other ideas? |

Looks to me like a Masonic Shriners' sword.

This could very well be a fraternal piece, although there doesn't seem to be the usual symbolic decoration seen on such regalia. Ariels 'Shriner' assessment may be well placed however, as the 'scimitar' mystic look could apply. I am wondering also if this might be a theatrical piece.

Interesting item, probably goes back to turn of the century or into the 1920's. Best regards, Jim |

A sword exactly the same just sold tonite, except this one has the scabbard where mine is missing from both swords... quite a pretty penny also...if it is what it is...
