I recently came across this very interesting piece. I don't have an image of the whole piece, but the horned head sits on a pole; the whole thing is probably 3-4 feet high. I assume it is Asian. The imagarey reminds me of persian paintings, but the script seems more eastern asian (I don't know what language it is - Chinese, Korean, something else?).
I am so curious about this and am fascinating. I have an opportunity to acquire it. Has anyone ever seen anything like it, or have knowledge regarding where it might be from? Many thanks! |

This is an Indo-Persian mace, probably ceremonial from the Qajar period.

Thank you so much! That was so helpful - I had no idea where to look, so I really appreciate the direction!
It was interesting to see a similar piece. The head on the one I am looking at is a lot larger -- lit's probably about 1 foot wide. Again, many thanks! |
