Wangpars for sharing
A wangpar is a warriors necklace from Tanimbar, one I have in my collection for a long time and just won a "new" one by a German auction yesterday.

And here is the "new" one. It has 8 big kauris in contrast to the other one which has 12.

I have to correct myself, the shown necklaces are not wangpar necklaces but necklaces from the Ngada tribes from Flores!
 The difference is that Ngada necklaces have the small kauri shells attached. I was confused by the description from the auction house of the newly acquired one. Sorry for the confusion. |

If I may be picky, they are COWRIE shells. Kauri is a New Zealand tree.
