Nice one, Lew. This knife comes from Algeria.
Here's mine. It's quite sharp and has a thick back. The wooden handle is also decorated with wire wrap. In addition to that, some twisted copper thread has been applied to the handle. It runs lengthwise to the top of the handle. There's also an inscription on the base of the blade. Don't know what it means, though. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

![]() Linky Linky2 on close examination the right side of the bolster on mine has what i thought were two parallel nicks or file marks, i suspect after seeing above that they also are the remains left exposed to show it was made from a file. |

This is probably the best khodmi I have seen, and is no doubt a status piece. It has the most intricate and decorated scabbard I have even seen on one.
