This is a 1:3 (?) repro of a Long 12pdr. from Nelson's Flagship Victory.
Barrel is 36", Bore 1.25" Some small number were made in the UK. Cast into the bottom is the inscription "Made in the UK" and the numeral "4". It was a limited edition. I have fired it. I have found that batteries make capitol projectiles and give a satisfying "thump" and cloud of (doubtless) injurious dust when they disintegrate against a tree. This is particularly valuable to me since it was a wedding present from my lovely wife! How she made it happen is still a mystery. Does anyone know about these critters? It seems that in our moves the original paperwork went astray. |
