Hi Guys,
Here a kampilan from me , Can someone help me with the age etc..? The hilt has some nice carving , the hair is from the hair dresser A little point of the sepiklet is broken of....nice laminated blade.Like to hear youre comments, (sorry for the bad photo,s Thanks! Danny |

Well, this is Maranao, mid to late 1800s, and perhaps ceremonial. Well preserved. Once had an iron or brass/bronze guard.

Ok, well, here are 2 things that tell me it is Maranao:
a) the style of okir used is Maranao b) the type of pommel form is Maranao (as opposed to that used in Borneo) |
