I've got a very big Trumbash

I visited a friend today and made a couple of swaps. I do not know who did best. This is a big one 40cm tall and 24cm across the top. Chunky shame about the crack, you cannot have everything and cracks are often found on African pieces. Anybody got a bigger one.

Here is my biggest Mangbetu knife. It measures 43,5 cm and 26 cm across the top.
And it also has a crack in the handle.

But I must say that your piece is more elaborately forged. Mine has a more simple design.

What would you think if we showed some different Mangbetu knives ?

About the Trumbush: I have read (but I don't remember where

) that the holes on the blade means the number of the wives of the owner

This one has a bit of a peculiar design. I once read that the holes in a trumbash represented the number of wives.

So this knife was owned by a bachelor
