Hello everyone,
I recently acquired this lovely dagger with bone handle, I think it's North African, possibly Tunisian? Does.anyone know the hallmark ? Maghreb, Spanish and ottoman influence I fînd. For the date, I believe it's 1309, which would place it in 1891 or 1892. I would be very grateful if you could help me pinpoint its exact origin. Best regards |

Hello,
Years ago, I saw an almost identical dagger at a flea market in Ankara. Therefore, I believe it comes from the region of Anatolia (or possibly from the Aegean region, considering the floral motif...). |

Excellent,
thank you very much Martin and Patterson for your messages. For my part, I found very different information. Identical handles for a dagger from the Balkans, another that looks very similar but is said to be Hausa from Nigeria... I think the website clearly went off track...🙃 |
