Chinese polearm ??
I picked this up recently from a house clearance in Wales . I was guessing that it is some kind of Chinese pole arm but would appreciate info from those more expert in the field . It is 2.3 meters overall with a blade approx 75 cm long including the socket .

This item does not come from mainland China. Possibly from the area of the Malacca Strait or close lands.

Judging from these pics, it doesn't seem to have much in the way of age. The edge looks blunt and the decorative designs are a hurriedly done acid etch. I've never seen an authentic Chinese or SE Asian blade quite like this.

Yes I would agree , yet it seems an absurdly large item for a tourist piece .

Maybe a purely ceremonial piece for some Chinese expat assembly hall/temple, possibly from Southeast Asia?
