Yataghan-sword combination

hi. here is a mixture of yataghan and sabre sword. i am not sure if original or combined later, i havent seen it in real. it is offered to me. the plates are gold washed , the seller says so. is it interesting and worth of buying according to you?

Saber Yatghans are a rare version but from time to time appears on the market. See for example below.

Regarding the sword you posted The bolsters are a later addition as one can tell from the big difference in its style and condition compared to the grip strap. This may still be OK as bolsters and/or grip straps were regularly replaced when worn, but it may also indicate that the blade and the handles are a late marriage.

Until today I was thinking that sabre yataghans were made "by accident”. I mean, it was more possible for me, that some people in the past had a sabre blade and mounted a yataghan hilt on it, because it was easy for them.

But the two examples here have the exact same blade and hilt. This is the prove for a production line. Where? That is the next question.

thanks.. i didnt know a common type called sabre yataghan till now. i can copy the scabbard's model to restore it if i buy.
