Your guard is very similar to some military khyber knifes. Look this old thread http://www.vikingsword.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/001976.html The blade looks also very Indian. So for me, your sword is Afghan / Pakistani. All the best, Kubur |

Definitely not Pakistani: only after August 14, 1948:-)
One of the late 19-20 century Afghani military sabers, with British influence. Also: please note the handle that is definitely not of a usual "khyber" form, but rather an imitation of the Russian regulation shashka pattern 1881.
